Sharmain Davis Sport and Clinical Dietitian

Formerly the Expert Sport Dietitian at the GlaxoSmithKline Human Performance Lab, Sharmain is an expert in advising elite athletes on ways to optimise performance through nutrition, both within every day training and leading up to important sporting events.

She began her career within the NHS, where she gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience within clinical nutrition and more specialist areas such as obesity, gut health and cardiac rehab. From there she went on to found, which she now directs.

Through her nutrition consultancy Sharmain provides bespoke nutritional plans, tailored to suit her client’s lifestyle, goals and food preferences. She works both online and via face to face appointments at the Chelsea Health Club and Spa (based at Chelsea FC, Stamford Bridge), advising elite athletes and private patients on how to achieve their individual goals through performance nutrition.

Sharmain and Wolé began working together in 2010, when they met through their roles at MaxiNutrition – Sports Dietician and sponsored athlete, respectively.

Wole Adesemoye Senior Trainer

Wole Adesemoye is the founder of WoleTraining that was founded in 2008 following his travels around the world and experiencing various ways of living and training. This enabled him to understand the different ways of training and fitness which then concluded in him building his own empire (WoleTraining) where he would incorporate different methods of training.

Wole’s current certifications include; NASM Advanced Certified Personal Trainer Level 3, NASM Integrated Core Training, NASM Cardiorespiratory Training for Sports Performance, NASM Integrated Balance Training, NASM Integrated Resistance Training, NASM Integrated Reactive Training, NASM Neuromuscular Stretching, NASM Integrated Speed, Agility & Quickness Training, CrossFit Forging Elite Fitness Level 1 Certified, London Fire Brigade First Aid at Work and Immediate Emergency Care, REPS Level 3 Advanced Instructor, Extreme Kettlebell Instructor along with Performance Boxing for Fitness Professionals.

Fitness has always been a major part in Wole’s life. His childhood dream of being a professional sportsman became reality when as a teenager; he played semi-professional football for ten seasons. He also represented England in the 100 meters after establishing a record of 10.95 seconds. He later joined an amateur boxing club Dell Youth ABC where he learnt the art of boxing. He had over 20 Competitive bouts. One of his greatest achievement in the sport was reaching the 2012 London ABA Final.

As a firefighter for the London fire brigade, maintaining a high level of fitness is crucial and marathon training is one of the ways that he achieves this.

He has run the London Marathon for the last four years and in 2009 completed the New York marathon achieving a personal best time of 3 hours 50 minutes. Wole has recently completed the London Triathlon in the time of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

He views winning the BBC’s Last Man Standing as one of his most significant fitness achievements – over a ten month period, he competed in the indigenous sports of ten very different countries from the Arctic to the Amazon and Asia. The experience demanded significant personal stamina and allowed Wole to draw on his experience across different sporting disciplines.

Anj Periyasamy Physiotherapist

A qualified physiotherapist, Anj has more than 8 years of experience working in NHS and private hospitals and clinics.  Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work in a number of specialist physiotherapy departments, honing her skills and enhancing her knowledge. Her personal area of interest is sports and musculoskeletal injuries, including all forms of rehabilitation; from sprains, to complex multi-fracture and neurological conditions.

Anj is able to offer WoleTraining clients a full range of physiotherapy services, including acupuncture treatment; cupping technique; and mat work level Pilates; as well as using taping, trigger point releasing, spinal and joint mobilisations, and muscle retraining to improve posture and pain, and expedite recovery from injuries.

Anj prides herself on being a proactive physio and works on key injury prevention strategies as well as addressing current pain and symptoms by using bespoke physiotherapy treatment plans. She will empower you to get involved in your care, enabling you to overcome problems and improve your fitness and sporting prowess.

In her spare time Anj works with the gold medal winning London Wheelchair rugby team.
